Here's How We Got Started

Our family began our sleep journey over 9 years ago when we were thinking of starting our family. Yep! That’s right – we didn’t even have kids before we started thinking about training our future children! During our group class, offered by our church, we found out we were expecting our first child. Further research began into how we would train our child to sleep through the night.

As a young new mother, a fear of mine was not being able to get the sleep I needed to function for my family. We bought videos and read books. We thought we were prepared to welcome our little girl and have her sleeping like the proverbial baby in no time.

At first Annika was a dream baby! She took beautiful naps in the crib as well as in my arms. She was even starting to stretch out her nights by 3 weeks old. My instruction manual said she was going to be sleeping all through the night by 8 weeks old and the time was quickly approaching.

And then…. She turned 4 weeks old, and our world changed. My sweet little girl REFUSED to nap during the day! As night time approached I would get a sick feeling in my stomach knowing that we would have to endure her screaming from 10 pm – 1:30 am. Things were falling apart and so was I!

Thankfully, we were able to connect with a woman who helped us determine why our little girl was no longer sleeping. It wasn’t long before we made the adjustments and she was again sleeping peacefully, day and night.

We Started Learning About Sleep Training

Since that time, we have learned so much about infant sleep training. We were so thankful to have someone help us through the difficult time that we started helping others. Word spread about our ability to counsel new families. We began holding classes for those in our community.

We've even had many of our own children to test our theories on!
We have had all types of sleepers right in our own family. We’ve trained pillow punchers (those that take a while to fall asleep at nap and bed time). We’ve had early risers, night owls, those that are schedule stuck, easy sleepers and the hard headed and strong willed.

So Who Are We?

We are parents who looks to scripture to guide what we believe about the world, our children and ourselves. We are parents who loves to help and guide other parents in training their children with love!

Here is what we ARE NOT:

We are not doctors, nurses or any type of healthcare provider. I am not “licensed” or “certified” because we have not aligned ourselves with any one sleep method (we have developed our own!). We are not a large, big box consulting firm. We do not provide cookie cutter schedules for each baby.

But here is what we ARE:

We are followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom we strive to follow in all that we do. We are parents, parents of 6 healthy, happy, independent and affectionate children. We are parents who understand that all children are different and may have different sleep training needs.
